Assistant Workshop Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Workshop Technician to support our remanufacturing workshop. Working under supervision, you will help maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency while handling heavy mining components. You will work closely with senior technicians to ensure that all remanufactured parts meet company and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all safe work practices and company safety policies.
• Assist in cleaning, disassembling, inspecting, re‑assembling and testing components according to established procedures.
• Operate remanufacturing tools and equipment to ensure product quality.
• Use forklifts safely for loading/unloading trucks, moving stock and picking parts.
• Store materials in designated areas and keep the shop floor and tools clean at the end of each shift.
• Prepare jobs, complete required documentation and submit work orders, technical drawings and quality records promptly.
• Support the team in meeting quality standards for remanufactured components.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or higher Trade Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in remanufacturing heavy mining components.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow detailed procedures.
