BIT Manager (Expat/Relocation Opportunity)

About the role

The BIT (Business, Infrastructure and Technology) Manager will report to the Deputy CEO and be responsible for all IT operations in Zambia. This full‑time expatriate or relocation role ensures that every branch stays online, clients are served securely, and the technology platform can scale with growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations across all Zambian branches, maintaining uptime and service quality.
• Own end‑to‑end IT infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, SD‑WAN) and ensure resilience, security and performance.
• Provide hands‑on support, upskill local teams and resolve escalated technical issues.
• Manage cybersecurity measures, including endpoint protection, firewalls, threat detection and security monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with data‑protection guidelines and document all processes.
• Lead IT projects, rollouts and migrations on schedule and within budget.
• Negotiate and manage ISP and vendor contracts, securing value for the organization.
• Plan, monitor and report on the country IT budget with full transparency.
• Mentor and develop the IT team, set stretch goals and build a fail‑safe capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of IT experience with multi‑site or regional exposure.
• Strong networking knowledge (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, SD‑WAN).
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise security tools (EDR, SIEM, IAM).
• Proven vendor and contract management experience across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop technical teams.
