Education Officer – Program Operations

About the role

The Education Officer will support the design, coordination, monitoring and quality delivery of Save the Children’s education programmes in Zambia. Working closely with the MEAL team, Ministry of Education and local partners, the role ensures programmes align with donor requirements, national priorities and organisational strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Support partners in implementing and tracking education programmes and budgets across Early Childhood Care and Development, Basic Education and Inclusive Learning.
• Coordinate programme activities, monitor progress and update data in SCI’s PRIME system.
• Ensure timely disbursement of funds to implementing partners and government entities, promoting efficient utilisation.
• Represent Save the Children in national education meetings, technical working groups and policy discussions.
• Contribute to programme planning, stakeholder engagement, reporting, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in implementing and coordinating education programmes in a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong knowledge of national education priorities and ability to work with government ministries, schools and community partners.
• Experience in programme monitoring, data management and reporting.
• Ability to represent the organisation in high‑level coordination meetings and policy forums.
