Field Liaison Officer – Lusaka

About the role

The Field Liaison Officer acts as the on‑the‑ground representative for the company in Lusaka, ensuring that all projects comply with local regulations and progress smoothly. You will be the primary point of contact with government bodies, contractors, and service providers, securing the permits and approvals needed for successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with municipal authorities, regulatory agencies and local government offices on behalf of the company.
• Source, submit and track all required permits, licences and approvals for project execution.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with inspectors, officials and relevant agencies.
• Identify, vet and coordinate local contractors, suppliers and service providers.
• Monitor on‑site contractor performance and raise issues to the project team as needed.
• Attend site visits, inspections and meetings as the authorised company representative.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of correspondence, submissions, approvals and contractor agreements.
• Identify potential regulatory risks early and propose practical mitigation solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a field‑based, regulatory or project coordination role.
• Strong knowledge of local permitting and licensing processes, or ability to acquire it quickly.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for engaging with officials and contractors.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple permit applications simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English; knowledge of local language(s) is an advantage.
• Degree in Law is preferred.
