Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial transactions and budget execution for Action Against Hunger Zambia. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate accounting, compliance with donor and internal policies, and supports program and logistics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record all financial transactions, ensuring data accuracy and timely posting.
• Prepare and submit accountancy bundles, budget forecasts and financial statements in line with IFRS and donor guidelines.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify bankbooks before the 5th of each month.
• Collaborate with program managers to share budgetary information and ensure proper use of resources.
• Support procurement compliance by working with logistics and administration teams.
• Maintain monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries for accurate reporting.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably within NGOs or international development.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting and donor compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program, logistics and senior management teams.
• Attention to detail and high integrity in handling organizational resources.
