Finance Intern

About the role

British American Tobacco Zambia is seeking a Finance Intern to support key accounting and finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and corporate finance activities. The role offers hands‑on experience in financial reporting and operational finance tasks within a dynamic, global company.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations and clear reconciling items in line with Finance Procedures.
• Assist in daily clearing of bank account transactions.
• Review supplier open items ahead of the payment run, execute blocking/unblocking of documents, and submit to GBS for weekly payments.
• Prepare accurate, meaningful ad‑hoc reports for management.
• Carry out other relevant finance support activities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a professional accountancy qualification (CA, CIMA, ACCA).
• Possession of a ZAQA certification.
• Membership of ZICA.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
