Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health activities at the field level for Action Against Hunger. This role ensures that malnutrition management, infant nutrition, and integrated case management are delivered effectively to target communities.

Key responsibilities

• Support management of acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM, and SBCC programmes at health facilities and outreach sites.
• Provide technical assistance to community health volunteers, care groups, and district health workers.
• Supervise daily implementation of activities and monitor progress against performance indicators.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to integrate multi‑sectoral interventions.
• Identify and verify programme participants, ensure timely reporting, and troubleshoot field‑level challenges.

Required profile

• Experience supporting health and nutrition programmes in field settings.
• Ability to supervise field teams and work closely with community structures.
• Strong coordination skills with partners, NGOs, and local authorities.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and community‑focused interventions.
