Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support field‑level health and nutrition activities for Action Against Hunger, ensuring effective management of acute malnutrition, infant nutrition, and integrated child health interventions. This role bridges the organization with communities, partners, and multi‑sector teams to achieve project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and supervise acute malnutrition, MIYCAN, MAMi, ICCM, and SBCC programs at health facilities and community outreach sites.
• Provide technical support to VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers, and district teams.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to integrate multi‑sector activities.
• Identify, verify, and monitor programme participants, ensuring accurate reporting and timely troubleshooting.
• Facilitate information exchange with local government, NGOs, and international aid partners.

Required profile

• Experience in community‑based nutrition or public health programmes.
• Strong understanding of malnutrition management protocols and child health interventions.
• Ability to work closely with community structures and multi‑sector teams.
• Excellent monitoring, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
