IT Support Officer

About the role

The IT Support Officer will provide first‑line technical assistance to employees of ME Long Teng Zambia Ltd, ensuring that all computer systems, hardware, software and network services operate smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver user support via phone, email or in‑person, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues.
• Install, configure, backup and troubleshoot PCs, printers, CCTV cameras and other IT equipment.
• Assist in the maintenance and administration of servers, networks and security systems.
• Perform regular system updates, upgrades and security monitoring.
• Document configurations, processes and troubleshooting steps; provide training to staff on IT tools.
• Implement IT security policies, ensure data‑protection compliance and monitor for unauthorized access.
• Manage software licences and maintain an accurate hardware inventory.
• Support planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects and recommend new technologies.
• Generate reports on support activities, analyse trends and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in IT or equivalent qualification.
• Grade 12 with passes in Science, Mathematics and English.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in IT support or a similar role.
• Commitment to observing company and HSE safety policies.
