Packaging Team Leader

About the role

The Packaging Team Leader is responsible for managing shift teams on a high‑volume packaging line, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met. You will lead operators, enforce safety standards, and support continuous improvement in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all team members, enforce PPE compliance and take corrective action when needed.
• Manage machine safety practices, Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), LOTO, and SAM procedures.
• Oversee process checks, operator compliance, and quality of packaged product delivered to the warehouse.
• Execute daily schedule: production, changeovers, cleaning, lubrication, autonomous maintenance, and inspections.
• Provide hands‑on support on line equipment and train operators on standard execution.
• Escalate major issues to Unit and Packaging Managers and complete end‑of‑shift reports.
• Facilitate planned training, control hourly employee hours, and resolve shift‑level issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Instrumentation, Chemical or Process Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years experience in FMCG packaging environments.
• Supervisory or team‑leader experience in a production setting.
• Knowledge of Voyager Plant Optimisation (VPO) is preferred.
