Regional Lead – Sub‑Saharan Africa

About the role

Empowered by Light is seeking a dynamic Regional Lead to drive its Sub‑Saharan Africa program. You will work remotely, collaborating with local partners and headquarters to expand renewable‑energy projects that support indigenous and disadvantaged communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow the Sub‑Saharan Africa program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with community‑based organizations, local governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and ensure the sustainability of high‑impact projects that maximize community benefits.
• Generate and implement ideas for systems, program, and operational improvements.
• Oversee project deliverables, monitor progress, and report outcomes to HQ.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in nonprofit, economic development, aid program management, renewable energy, or a related field.
• College degree (Associate or Bachelor) or equivalent work experience.
• High cultural sensitivity and strong project‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Some solar‑technical knowledge is a plus.
