Consultant – Anti-Stigma & Discrimination Toolkit for Zambia

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to develop an anti‑stigma and anti‑discrimination toolkit for persons with disabilities in Zambia. The assignment lasts 17 working days and will be based in Lusaka, requiring close collaboration with government bodies, NGOs, UN agencies, media and civil‑society organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Review international and local literature on anti‑stigma and discrimination against persons with disabilities.
• Co‑create a practical toolkit that provides guidance for government, NGOs, UN agencies, media and civil‑society organisations.
• Engage closely with organisations of persons with disabilities, ZAPD and other key stakeholders throughout the drafting process.
• Ensure the toolkit reflects the needs of diverse disability groups and promotes inclusive terminology and etiquette.
• Deliver the final toolkit within the 17‑day assignment period.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education, health, sociology, community development, public relations, communications or psychology.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in disability inclusion and rights.
• Proven experience identifying, analysing and addressing ableism, stigma and discrimination.
• Demonstrated expertise in disability‑inclusive communication.
