Expediting Specialist – Shipment & Expediting

About the role

The Expediting Specialist leads the expediting function at Kansanshi Mining, ensuring purchase orders are managed efficiently, supplier performance is monitored, and material availability supports safe and cost‑effective mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor and develop Expediting Officers to achieve individual and team objectives.
• Allocate workloads and priorities based on operational requirements, criticality and supply risk.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure consistent application of expediting procedures, standards and escalation protocols.
• Oversee purchase orders from supplier acknowledgement through logistics handover.
• Lead weekly reviews of ageing, overdue and high‑risk orders, assigning recovery actions.
• Prioritise critical, breakdown, shutdown and production‑critical materials with procurement and end users.
• Monitor PO cycle time, back‑orders and delivery performance, driving corrective action.
• Lead supplier performance management and conduct quarterly reviews.
• Develop and monitor supplier improvement plans and escalate supply risks early.

Required profile

• Proven experience in expediting or supply chain within mining or industrial environments.
• Strong leadership and people‑development capabilities.
