Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer works closely with business units to uncover opportunities and deliver digital solutions that add operational value across the mine value chain. The role blends business analysis, solution design, data integration, AI, and software engineering to translate operational needs into secure, scalable, and supportable products.

Key responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders across operations and IT to understand challenges, surface opportunities, and capture clear, prioritized requirements.
• Analyse and map business processes, designing digital solutions that improve work efficiency and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Design and build secure, supportable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and site technology standards.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations, ensuring reliable data flow and governance.
• Apply generative AI and machine learning to boost productivity, decision quality, and operational performance while following responsible AI practices.
• Build, deploy, and support digital products that solve real business problems.

Required profile

• Proven ability to engage with cross‑functional stakeholders and translate operational needs into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in business process mapping and value‑realisation tracking.
• Capability to work within enterprise architecture guidelines and ensure security and integration best practices.
• Experience delivering AI‑driven solutions and adhering to responsible AI principles.
