Head of Credit – PPB

About the role

The Head of Credit for the PPB division leads the credit evaluation function, ensuring efficient processing of loan applications and alignment between business and credit teams. This senior position oversees the issuance of sanction letters, manages risk controls, and drives automation initiatives across the credit lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain an efficient credit evaluation process that supports collaboration between business and credit units.
• Coach Credit Evaluation Managers on origination practices and ensure open communication across teams.
• Assess loan applications, issue sanction letters with clear conditions, and manage high‑risk cases such as Politically Exposed Persons.
• Verify that approvals stay within delegated authority and meet turnaround time targets.
• Lead initiatives for digital lending, automated credit processes, and enhanced data utilization.
• Ensure collateral and legal documentation are complete, valid, and properly stored.
• Monitor credit risk metrics, enforce credit procedures, and produce accurate statutory reports.
• Manage credit control events and defaults to minimise non‑performing loans.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit risk assessment and loan underwriting within a banking environment.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop senior credit managers.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, collateral management, and legal documentation.
• Ability to drive process automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and asset quality.
