Health and Nutrition Coordinator

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Coordinator will lead the design, implementation and technical oversight of health and nutrition programmes in Zambia, ensuring they align with Action Against Hunger’s country and sector strategies and meet donor standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely, high‑quality implementation of ongoing health and nutrition programmes.
• Lead analysis of the country’s humanitarian health and nutrition context and translate findings into programme design.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor activities and provide technical support.
• Write proposals, support fundraising efforts and contribute to recruitment and procurement as needed.
• Provide strategic and technical advice to the country team and ensure compliance with organisational and donor guidelines.
• Build capacity of nutrition staff and coordinate internal and external representation of the health and nutrition sector.
• Collaborate with logistics, HR, finance and program teams to ensure seamless programme delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing health and nutrition projects in humanitarian settings.
• Strong understanding of donor requirements and best practices in nutrition programming.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster partnerships with government, NGOs and research institutions.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and proposal‑writing skills.
