Heavy Equipment Technician

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is based in the Copperbelt region and focuses on maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy machinery and vehicles used in construction and mining operations. The Heavy Equipment Technician ensures equipment runs safely and efficiently through regular inspections and preventive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose mechanical and technical issues and perform timely repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure minimal downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Prior experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably in construction or mining.
• Relevant vocational or technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance or a comparable field.
• Strong ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Effective communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
