Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

Wärtsilä Energy is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team at its Ndola site in Zambia. The role focuses on coordinating and supervising all mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring operational performance, safety, and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule maintenance tasks, directing team members and resources to meet targets and deadlines.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to the maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and company policies.
• Manage the availability of tools, parts, and resources required for maintenance work.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably with hands‑on work on Wärtsilä engines.
• Proven ability to lead a team and coordinate shift activities.
• Strong knowledge of operational and safety procedures.

• Hands‑on experience with Wärtsilä engines.
