Mining Equipment Specialist

About the role

Sarens is seeking an experienced Mining Equipment Specialist to lead the growth of its equipment rental business in Zambia. The role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and delivering sustainable revenue through the rental of heavy mining and earth‑moving equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new mining equipment rental opportunities, develop a robust sales pipeline and achieve revenue targets through regular client visits and site assessments.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and tender submissions, negotiate contract terms and ensure profitability and customer satisfaction throughout the rental period.
• Establish long‑term partnerships with mining houses, contractors and project owners, acting as the primary commercial contact and supporting customer retention.
• Monitor mining activity, market trends and competitor actions in Zambia and neighbouring regions to uncover expansion opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations, technical and maintenance teams to ensure successful contract execution, provide equipment selection advice and support project mobilisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the mining, earth‑moving or heavy‑equipment industry with a proven track record in equipment rental or sales.
• Strong understanding of open‑pit mining operations, established network of industry contacts in Zambia and experience working with major mining companies or contractors.
