Procurement and Logistics Officer

About the role

The Procurement and Logistics Officer is responsible for sourcing goods and services, making commercial recommendations, and ensuring timely delivery to support efficient operations. This role works closely with end‑users, suppliers, logistics, and finance teams to close requests and maintain smooth supply chains.

Key responsibilities

• Source goods and services and provide commercial and technical recommendations in line with company procedures.
• Expedite deliveries, coordinating with suppliers, logistics partners and internal stakeholders to meet required timeframes.
• Maintain accurate purchase order data in the Pronto system.
• Conduct market research and keep up‑to‑date product knowledge.
• Hold suppliers accountable for timely supply and resolve any discrepancies.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with internal departments and external vendors.
• Manage a register of donations, facilitate deliveries and issue certificates.
• Inspect warehouse and stockyard areas, follow up on corrective actions to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Coordinate non‑passenger transport requests, including plant and equipment hire.
• Facilitate collections from suppliers in collaboration with logistics teams.
• Oversee vendor registration and ensure timely approvals.
• Provide PO feedback to end‑users, submit monthly accrual reports and close open orders.
• Identify obsolete stock and recommend disposal or proper storage.
• Manage tender processes: scope review, bid requests, evaluation, and contract drafting.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement and logistics functions.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to make technical recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder management with both internal teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to conduct market research and maintain product knowledge.
• Attention to detail for purchase order accuracy and documentation.
• Experience managing tender processes and vendor registrations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Pronto purchase order system.
