Program Officer – HIV Prevention

About the role

CHAI is seeking a Program Officer to lead technical assistance for HIV prevention, focusing on the rollout of the injectable PrEP product Lenacapavir in Zambia. The role will support the Ministry of Health in implementing the PrEP rollout plan, conducting implementation research, and documenting outcomes to inform global best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to the Zambian Ministry of Health on HIV service delivery and PrEP implementation.
• Support the design, execution, and monitoring of the PrEP rollout plan, including the injectable product.
• Coordinate a research and evidence‑based implementation study to generate data on PrEP uptake and effectiveness.
• Document program activities, results, and lessons learned for dissemination to global partners.
• Collaborate with CHAI teams, local stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment with national health strategies.

Required profile

• University degree in public health, epidemiology, medicine, or a related field.
• Experience working on HIV prevention or PrEP programs in low‑ and middle‑income settings.
• Familiarity with government health systems and ability to engage Ministry of Health officials.
• Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
