Senior Mechanical Dewatering Coordinator

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a Senior Mechanical Dewatering Coordinator to lead the mechanical aspects of dewatering operations at the Kansanshi mine site. The role ensures reliable water management, supporting continuous mining production while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and optimise dewatering equipment, including pumps and pipeline systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs for mechanical dewatering assets.
• Monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate closely with Mine Operations to align dewatering activities with production schedules.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or related field).
• Minimum 5 years experience with electrical pumping systems, installation, operation and maintenance.
• 5+ years experience handling high TDH and high‑volume diesel pumps.
• Proven ability to work independently and within multicultural teams.
• Strong commitment to safety and professional work ethic.
