Site H&S Officer

About the role

The Site H&S Officer will lead the development, implementation and maintenance of SGS's Integrated Management System for Health, Safety and Environment at a specific site. You will ensure compliance with local legislation, client requirements and SGS global standards while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) for HSE, aligning with SGS global and legal requirements.
• Promote a high level of customer service and continuous improvement across site operations.
• Ensure compliance with local legal, client and SGS standards.
• Lead incident investigations and manage the reporting process for hazards, near‑misses and incidents.
• Develop and facilitate risk assessments and hazard identification processes with multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate industrial hygiene surveys and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Manage internal and external audits, track corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Support site management in identifying risks, opportunities and legal liabilities.
• Drive the use of H&S digital tools (CRYSTAL, CHECK STATUS, LEAD ADVISER, CHEMWATCH) and ensure proper documentation distribution.
• Prepare and deliver regular H&S performance reports and management system updates.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of local HSE legislation and SGS global HSE standards.
• Proven experience in leading incident investigations and audit processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with site management and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills to train employees and contractors on risk controls.
• Commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture and encouraging STOP‑WORK authority.
