About the role

Our client in the financial services sector is seeking to hire four Bank Clerks. The role involves processing cash deposits, authorising cash withdrawals within set limits, and recording transactions to maintain accurate cash control in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive cash and cheque deposits, ensuring accounts are credited correctly.
• Process withdrawal vouchers, verify authorisation, and dispense cash accurately.
• Capture daily transactions in the system and obtain required supervisory signatures.
• Reconcile cash registers with the General Ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
• Secure keys, notes, coins, vouchers and cashier stamps at all times.
• Provide first‑line customer service, explain products, handle complaints and record feedback.
• Maintain filing systems for customer records and prepare banking slips and returns.
• Raise payments, manage petty‑cash vouchers and ensure proper authorisation before disbursement.

Required profile

• ZAQA‑verified Diploma or Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a similar banking environment.
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Banking and Financial Services (preferred).
• Strong numerical proficiency, high attention to detail and good communication abilities.
• Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of basic bank regulations, compliance procedures and secure record‑keeping.
• Clean police record and TransUnion Zambia credit record.
• Physical ability to handle cash boxes, move files and stand for extended periods.
