Clearing & Forwarding Officer – Customs Clearance Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Clearing & Forwarding Officer to manage customs clearance processes and ensure the timely, cost‑effective, and compliant movement of imports, exports, and transit cargo.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit all customs clearance documentation.
• Calculate and process customs duties, VAT and other applicable taxes accurately.
• Verify HS Codes and ensure correct customs classification.
• Track shipments from port to final destination.
• Maintain accurate filing and records of all import, export and transit documents.
• Coordinate with transporters and drivers regarding cargo movement.
• Monitor transit times and promptly report delays or clearance challenges.
• Provide daily clearance status updates to the Operations Manager.

Required profile

• Diploma in Customs Clearing, Transport & Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• Valid ZRA Customs Clearing Agent Licence (must have).
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in customs clearing and forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of customs documentation, HS Codes, duties, VAT, transit procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent coordination, communication, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
