Commercial Officer

About the role

The Commercial Officer is responsible for managing sales, inventory, and warehouse operations while ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role supports internal staff, other First Quantum companies, and contractors by processing sales, issuing quotations, and maintaining accurate stock records.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales orders for staff, other First Quantum entities and contractors using the Pronto system.
• Prepare and issue item quotations, review daily sales reports and send outstanding order reports to end‑users.
• Maintain legal health and safety entries in the Mining Regulation Log Book.
• Dispatch, raise, and cancel pick‑slips; conduct stock‑takes, bin maintenance and regular housekeeping.
• Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment safely.
• Inspect received items for quantity, quality and specification compliance; manage acceptance or rejection.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, resolve queries and expedite low‑stock items.
• Coordinate with Accounts, Procurement, Receiving, Logistics and end‑users to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education with CIPS Level 4 (or equivalent) certification.
• At least two years of experience in a similar sales or warehouse role.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and the ability to work under pressure.
• Self‑motivated, dependable and capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work shifts as required.
