Driver – Field Office Transportation

About the role

Action Against Hunger seeks a reliable Driver to provide transportation services for its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province. The role includes operating program vehicles, ensuring their mechanical condition, and maintaining up‑to‑date insurance and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Drive program vehicles as directed, transporting staff, visitors, and cargo safely.
• Observe traffic rules, road discipline, and ensure passenger and cargo safety.
• Perform long‑distance trips with or without program staff when required.
• Keep vehicles clean, maintain documentation (insurance, road licence) and ensure they are always in good order.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections (oil, fuel, brakes, lights, wipers, tire pressure) and report any damage or abnormal conditions.
• Maintain maintenance records, schedule services, and remind supervisors of upcoming service dates.
• Fill required forms, report accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences promptly.
• Perform minor repairs, change tires, refuel vehicles, and ensure availability of spare parts, jack, and tools.
• Deliver parcels, letters, and other items to offices and businesses as needed.

Required profile

• Advanced Driving Certificate.
