Head Environment and Social Performance

About the role

The Head of Environment and Social Performance will lead the implementation of Dangote Industries' corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and the plant-wide Environmental Management System (EMS). Reporting to senior plant management, the role ensures compliance with ISO 14001, IFC Performance Standards and national regulations while driving community engagement and ESG reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve the EMS in line with ISO 14001 and IFC standards.
• Develop, monitor and report on the plant’s CSR annual budget and programs.
• Lead acquisition, renewal and compliance of environmental permits and licenses.
• Coordinate community relations, manage partnerships with NGOs and oversee CSR initiatives.
• Produce ESG disclosures, annual CSR reports and support corporate communications.
• Monitor environmental pollutants, collect performance data and deliver training to plant management.
• Provide consultancy to business units on social and environmental matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
• 10‑15 years of experience in community affairs, CSR, and multi‑stakeholder management.
• Strong commercial understanding of sustainability planning and business strategy.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Membership in a recognized engineering or environmental professional body.
