Health and Nutrition Officer

About the role

The Health and Nutrition Officer will support the implementation of nutrition and health interventions at the field level, working directly with communities and local partners to address acute malnutrition, infant nutrition, and childhood illnesses.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate malnutrition management into health service delivery at facilities and outreach sites.
• Implement programs such as MAMi, BFHI, MIYCAN, ICCM, and SBCC at both health facility and community levels.
• Supervise daily field activities, monitor performance indicators, and ensure timely reporting.
• Support capacity‑building of VHTs, care‑group volunteers, health workers, and district staff.
• Coordinate with WASH and Food Security officers to ensure multi‑sectoral integration.
• Identify and verify programme participants, monitor programme quality, and troubleshoot implementation challenges.

Required profile

• Experience in community‑based nutrition or health programmes, preferably in humanitarian settings.
• Strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including local authorities, NGOs, and community groups.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for training and sensitisation activities.
