Housekeeper - Part-time

About the role

This part‑time position ensures a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff in a hospital setting. The housekeeper supports clinical teams by maintaining hygiene standards and assisting with non‑medical patient needs, contributing to infection control and patient comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of wards, bathrooms, consultation rooms, offices, and treatment areas following WHO/MoH protocols.
• Prepare patient beds before and after surgeries or admissions, monitor patients for urgent needs, and assist with meal service.
• Collect, sort, and dispatch soiled linen and clothing for laundering according to hospital procedures.
• Conduct scheduled deep cleaning, including monthly disinfection, meeting‑room cleaning three times a week, and window cleaning.
• Manage safe disposal of waste, including biomedical materials and human tissue, in compliance with regulations.
• Inspect facilities, record maintenance issues, and submit monthly maintenance summaries.
• Clean, store, and maintain cleaning equipment and securely store chemicals.
• Monitor hand‑hygiene stations, restock supplies, and adhere to safety and infection‑prevention guidelines.
• Participate in regular training, team meetings, and collaborate respectfully with nurses, patients, and support staff.

Required profile

• Minimum: Secondary School Certificate.
• Previous experience in hospital housekeeping or patient support is an advantage.
• Physically fit, able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of hygiene, safety, and patient dignity.

Required skills

• Knowledge of WHO/MoH cleaning and disinfection protocols.
• Ability to follow infection‑prevention and biomedical waste handling guidelines.
