Officer, Local Employment and Skills Development

About the role

The Officer, Local Employment and Skills Development will lead programmes that boost host‑community participation in employment and career advancement at the FQM Trident Mine and its contractors. You will work closely with local stakeholders to identify talent, close skill gaps and create sustainable career pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement initiatives that increase local community members’ access to jobs and career growth.
• Identify, prepare, recruit, develop and retain local talent for mine‑related positions.
• Facilitate skills‑development interventions that address workforce gaps and improve long‑term employability.
• Maintain and update employment databases and generate regular reports.
• Monitor contractor compliance with local‑employment commitments and ensure alignment with community goals.
• Support community‑focused training programmes and apprenticeship schemes.

Required profile
