Onsite Technician – Mine Site (Kalumbila & Kansanshi)

About the role

We are looking for an Onsite Technician to provide maintenance and support for MTU engines at the Kalumbila and Kansanshi mine sites. The role requires strict adherence to safety, ethics and quality standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safety, ethics and MTU systems compliance at all times.
• Perform accurate fault finding and repair of MTU engines to the highest standards.
• Provide maintenance service and 24‑hour standby call‑out support for MTU engines.
• Maintain detailed documentation, field service reports and record parts, hours and travel.
• Represent Rolls‑Royce Solutions South Africa professionally on‑ and off‑site.
• Follow ISO 9001, SHEQ and company quality procedures in all activities.
• Analyse audit reports, inspect MTU products and recommend corrective actions.
• Comply with customer security, legal and OHS regulations.

Required profile

• Valid passport and willingness to travel to remote mine sites.
• Ability to work on a 24‑hour standby and call‑out schedule.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Accurate record‑keeping and reporting skills.

Required skills

• MTU engine maintenance and mechanical repair.
• Fault diagnosis of heavy‑duty engines.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) procedures.
• Use of PPE and safety equipment in industrial environments.
• Preparation of detailed field service reports.
