OpenLMIS Technical Support Consultant (Remote)

About the role

The consultant will provide technical, functional and operational support for the OpenLMIS vaccine logistics system in Zambia. Working closely with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF, the role ensures system enhancements, integration with national digital health platforms and capacity building for sustainable immunisation programme performance.

Key responsibilities

• Complete outstanding development activities and enhance core OpenLMIS functionality.
• Integrate OpenLMIS with approved national digital health platforms, including DHIS2.
• Provide production support, troubleshooting and incident management.
• Improve mobile applications and reporting/analytics capabilities.
• Manage cold‑chain equipment data, system security and quality assurance.
• Produce documentation and conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions.

Required profile

• BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, health information systems or logistics management information systems.
• Extensive experience with OpenLMIS or similar logistics management systems.
• Proven experience in health systems interoperability and API integration.
• Fluency in English and ability to work independently under tight timelines.
