Partnerships and Mobilization Lead for Improving Access Activity

About the role

Fika is seeking an experienced Partnerships and Mobilization Lead to head the non‑physical infrastructure component of its Improving Access Activity in Zambia. The role will strengthen government partnerships, lead participatory community engagement, and oversee environmental and social performance for a donor‑funded transport corridor.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen and sustain partnerships with national and sub‑national government agencies, district councils, Ward Development Committees and traditional leaders.
• Lead participatory community engagement and mobilization using the P‑RAM model, ensuring community priorities shape infrastructure decisions.
• Supervise environmental and social performance, including ZEMA‑aligned screening, social safeguards, resettlement and management plans.
• Oversee road‑safety, safe mobility programming and prevention of SEA/SEA and trafficking using a survivor‑centered approach.
• Manage and coordinate community engagement, safeguards and partnerships staff in collaboration with the Team Leader and senior engineers.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in social sciences, development studies, environmental and social management, public policy or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in government partnerships, participatory community mobilization and environmental/social performance on donor‑funded programs, preferably in rural transport development.
• Proven experience with social safeguards, gender and social inclusion, and prevention of GBV, SEA and trafficking, aligned with donor standards such as IFC Performance Standards.
• Full professional proficiency in English; knowledge of Zambian languages and established local networks are an asset.
