About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Private Household Chef to join a family of five in Lusaka. The role focuses on preparing nutritious, high‑quality meals that meet specific medical and dietary requirements. This is a long‑term, full‑time position for someone passionate about healthy cooking and attentive to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily meals—including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and healthy snacks.
• Develop varied weekly menus that comply with diabetes‑friendly, low‑sodium, and low‑purine guidelines.
• Shop for groceries, maintain kitchen stock, and ensure food is stored safely.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and hygienic at all times.
• Adapt recipes to evolving dietary needs and occasional guest requirements.
• Minimise waste and manage kitchen inventory efficiently.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a private, personal, or professional chef.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare medically tailored meals, especially for diabetes, hypertension, and gout.
• Strong understanding of balanced nutrition and healthy cooking techniques.
• Trustworthy, reliable, professional, and discreet with the ability to work independently.
• Valid references from previous employers.

Required skills

• Food safety and hygiene certification.
• Culinary training or professional chef certification.
• Knowledge of diabetic‑friendly, low‑sodium, and low‑purine cooking.
