Product Development Officer – Ceramics

About the role

Twyford International is seeking a Product Development Officer to support its Zambian ceramics factory. The role focuses on gathering market intelligence, designing new tile products, and ensuring successful product launches that meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate daily with the factory and product manager to coordinate product deliveries.
• Prepare design survey reports and develop new design samples.
• Organise weekly foreign product meetings and report progress via email.
• Collect customer feedback on new products and track competitor product listings.
• Visit the market twice a week to understand customer requirements and generate product concepts.
• Manage the end‑to‑end new product development process, from design research to factory proofing and market sampling.
• Produce timely weekly and monthly reports for the product, sales, and market teams.

Required profile

• University degree in a related field.
• At least one year of experience in product design, preferably in tiles or related ceramics.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
