Project Leader – Fish, Nursery & Vegetable Farming

About the role

DAPP Zambia is looking for an enthusiastic Project Leader to manage a modern fish farming enterprise integrated with a vegetable and tree nursery in Children’s Town, Malambanyama. The role combines aquaculture, greenhouse vegetable production, and community engagement, reporting directly to the Project Leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor fishponds, ensuring optimal water quality and health.
• Develop and follow feeding schedules to promote rapid fish growth.
• Implement security measures in collaboration with guards to protect the fish stock.
• Market harvested fish locally and expand sales to neighboring districts as production scales.
• Keep accurate records of fish production, sales, and related business transactions.
• Engage Youth Academy students, providing hands‑on training in aquaculture and horticulture.
• Run a professional vegetable nursery, delivering high‑quality seedlings.
• Promote and sell seedlings to local markets.
• Oversee vegetable production for broader market consumption.
• Maintain detailed records of nursery and vegetable outputs and transactions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate with good grades.
• Certificate in Agriculture or a higher qualification.
• Strong passion for agriculture and sustainable farming.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurship and business management skills.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of fish farming practices and pond management.
• Experience with greenhouse vegetable production and nursery operations.
• Ability to record and analyse production and financial data.
