Project Leader – Fish, Nursery & Vegetable Farming

About the role

DAPP Zambia, a long‑standing NGO operating across all ten provinces, is looking for an enthusiastic Project Leader to run a modern fish farming enterprise linked to a vegetable and tree nursery in Children’s Town, Malambanyama. The role combines aquaculture, horticulture and business management to create a profitable, sustainable operation while providing learning opportunities for local youth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage fish ponds, ensuring optimal water quality, feeding schedules and health monitoring.
• Implement security and control systems to protect fish stocks.
• Develop and execute local marketing strategies for fish, expanding to neighboring districts as production grows.
• Maintain accurate production and financial records for the aquaculture unit.
• Engage Youth Academy students in hands‑on fish farming training.
• Operate a professional vegetable and tree nursery, guaranteeing high‑quality seedlings.
• Market nursery seedlings and coordinate sales to wider markets.
• Oversee vegetable production for commercial distribution.
• Keep detailed records of nursery and vegetable output and related transactions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate with good grades.
• Certificate in Agriculture or higher qualification.
• Strong knowledge and passion for agriculture.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurship and business acumen.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
• Qualifications must be verifiable by the Zambia Qualifications Authority when requested.
