Shift Supervisor – Operations QA/QC

About the role

The Shift Supervisor – Operations QA/QC coordinates and oversees drill and blast quality assurance and control activities across shifts. Reporting to the Operations team, you ensure that all blasting work aligns with design specifications, production targets and safety standards, driving continuous improvement on the mine site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct shift safety briefings, inspections and enforce explosives safety standards.
• Supervise drill and blast QA/QC execution, verifying hole depth, spacing, angle and deviation.
• Monitor explosive loading, density control, stemming quality and use of the Blast IQ system.
• Validate compliance with QA/QC protocols, powder factor and explosive performance.
• Track shift performance, perform post‑blast evaluations and feed optimisation initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations, hazard identification and corrective actions.
• Manage Area Supervisors and QA/QC teams, allocate resources and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
• Liaise with drilling, engineering and production stakeholders to ensure blast readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in drill and blast operations within a mining environment.
• Strong knowledge of SHEQ regulations and explosives handling procedures.
• Ability to lead teams on shift basis and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical skills for performance monitoring and data integrity.
