Stores Assistant

About the role

The Stores Assistant supports the efficient operation of the hospital’s supply chain by managing incoming deliveries, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring that inventory is stored safely and organized for easy access.

Key responsibilities

• Receive deliveries, verify quantities and quality against purchase orders, and report any discrepancies.
• Record stock movements, update bin cards and Odoo entries, and keep stock levels within defined thresholds.
• Arrange items systematically, label them correctly, and maintain clean, safe, and accessible storage areas.
• Issue stock to departments based on approved requisitions, ensuring proper documentation.
• Apply FIFO/FEFO principles to rotate stock, minimizing waste and preventing expiry.
• Participate in monthly and quarterly stock counts and help reconcile variances.
• Maintain accurate documentation, file delivery notes, and assist in preparing stock reports.
• Follow hospital policies, procurement procedures, and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Provide general support to the Stores Officer as needed.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Good numerical and record‑keeping abilities.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain compliance.
• Basic computer literacy; experience with Odoo is a plus.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical capability to lift and move stock items safely.
