Superintendent, Production – Hauling

About the role

Responsible for leading, planning and coordinating all mining operations related to haulage, ensuring maximum productivity, extraction rates and compliance with safety, quality and cost targets. The role supports the Production Manager in enforcing mine regulations and optimising haul road development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and program haulage activities to meet monthly production targets and ensure sufficient manpower and equipment.
• Develop and optimise haul road parameters, monitor tyre life and implement processes to minimise truck and shovel delays.
• Maintain strong client relationships, manage scope changes and variation orders.
• Conduct daily SHEQ reviews, risk assessments and audits to uphold safety and environmental standards.
• Lead and coach production staff, manage performance, and ensure competency certification for all operators.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate; Degree in Mining, Mineral Science or related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Valid Blasting License, First Aid Certificate and Driver’s License.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in open‑pit mining, with at least 5 years in mine planning.
• Technical knowledge of mineral reserve estimation, geotechnical principles and heavy‑equipment earth‑moving applications.
