Superintendent – Tailings Storage Facility (TSF)

About the role

The Superintendent – Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) will lead day‑to‑day operations of the TSF at Lumwana Copper Mine. Reporting to the TSF Manager, the role acts as Deputy Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer, ensuring safe, compliant, and sustainable tailings management.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full RTFE accountability in the manager’s absence, handling reporting, escalation and decision‑making.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of TSF design, construction history, performance and objectives.
• Participate in PFMA reviews, risk assessments and Critical Controls Management Plan updates.
• Lead operational training on OMS requirements and TARP protocols.
• Conduct daily Routine Inspections, complete forms and submit findings promptly.
• Coordinate Dam Safety Inspections and reviews, accompanying engineers and review panels.
• Monitor Quantitative Performance Objectives and trigger TARP responses when needed.
• Collect, analyse and report geotechnical, hydrological and environmental instrumentation data for quarterly monitoring reports.
• Support preparation and testing of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
