Transportation Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Transportation Manager to oversee our warehouse operations, customs clearance and delivery processes in Zambia. The role ensures efficient handling of goods, compliance with customs regulations and timely delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily receiving, loading and off‑loading of goods and maintain a clean, organized warehouse following 5S and FIFO principles.
• Conduct regular stock counts and keep inventory records accurate in Excel or an ERP system.
• Coordinate with clearing agents for sea and air cargo, verify shipping documents and liaise with ZRA officials during inspections.
• Monitor demurrage and storage charges to minimise costs.
• Plan daily delivery routes, supervise drivers or third‑party transporters, ensure on‑time delivery and manage proof of delivery.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, road tax renewals and handle customer complaints related to deliveries.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum three years of logistics experience in Zambia.
• Strong knowledge of ZRA procedures, COMESA rules and local customs processes.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken); knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s licence.
