Artisan Boilermaker – Skilled Metal Fabrication

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Artisan Boilermaker to join our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, fabricating and repairing boilers, tanks and other metal structures to ensure reliable and safe equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks and related metal structures according to blueprints and specifications.
• Perform welding using Arc, MIG and TIG techniques on carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• Interpret engineering drawings, sketches and work orders to determine required materials and procedures.
• Cut, shape and form metal components using grinders, presses, shears and other fabrication tools.
• Inspect completed work for quality, identify defects and carry out corrective actions.
• Conduct routine maintenance and preventative checks on boilermaking equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and equipment status.
• Follow all safety policies, wear required PPE and collaborate with maintenance teams.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (or equivalent) and a Craft Certificate in Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of boilermaking experience, preferably in a mining environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Valid driver’s licence is an advantage.

• Knowledge of metal properties and fabrication techniques.
