bCPAP Project Manager

About the role

The bCPAP Project Manager will lead the implementation of the “Better Care for Small and Sick Newborns” initiative in Zambia. Working with Save the Children, the Ministry of Health and partners, you will ensure high‑quality respiratory care for newborns across ten district hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, strategic direction and coordination for the bCPAP project.
• Oversee implementation in ten district‑level public health facilities, ensuring integration of bCPAP services into routine newborn care.
• Collaborate with the Health and Nutrition Technical Lead, senior management, finance, supply chain, HR, MEAL and donor representatives.
• Manage project budgets, procurement, reporting and compliance with donor requirements.
• Strengthen referral and transfer systems, mentor health workers and monitor quality improvement activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing health‑sector projects, preferably in neonatal or respiratory care.
• Strong understanding of donor‑funded programmes and Zambian health system.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work on‑site in Lusaka and travel to project districts.
