About the role
The bCPAP Project Mentor will provide regular on‑site clinical mentorship, coaching and quality‑improvement support to healthcare providers in ten district‑level public health facilities across Lusaka, Central and Southern provinces of Zambia. The role aims to strengthen the capacity of health workers to deliver evidence‑based newborn care and improve adherence to national clinical standards, ultimately contributing to reduced neonatal mortality.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver on‑site clinical mentorship and coaching to health‑care providers.
- Support quality‑improvement initiatives within project‑supported facilities.
- Strengthen referral and transfer systems for sick newborns.
- Enhance the capacity of health workers to implement bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (bCPAP) therapy.
- Promote adherence to national newborn care protocols and standards.
Required profile
- Professional experience in newborn or neonatal care.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical mentorship and coaching.
- Experience with quality‑improvement processes in health‑care settings.
- Willingness to work on‑site in multiple districts across Zambia.
Required skills
- Knowledge of bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (bCPAP) technology.
