About the role
The Better Care for Small and Sick Newborns in Zambia project seeks a dedicated bCPAP Project Mentor to provide on‑site clinical mentorship, coaching and quality‑improvement support to health‑care providers in ten district‑level public health facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver regular on‑site mentorship to health‑care teams on evidence‑based newborn care and bCPAP use.
- Coach staff to adhere to national clinical standards and protocols for small and sick newborns.
- Support quality‑improvement initiatives and monitor implementation of bCPAP services.
- Strengthen referral and transfer systems for sick newborns across Lusaka, Central and Southern provinces.
- Document progress, provide feedback and contribute to capacity‑building activities.
Required profile
- Professional experience in neonatal or newborn health care.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach health‑care providers.
- Understanding of health‑system strengthening and quality‑improvement processes.
- Willingness to travel to district facilities and work on‑site.
