Border Liaison

About the role

The Border Liaison will ensure smooth movement of trucks across the Nakonde border, handling customs clearance and coordinating with drivers, agents and internal teams. This position supports Alistair Group’s mission to make Africa work better by maintaining efficient border operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor truck movements toward the border and secure effective clearance at Nakonde.
• Receive, inspect and submit customs documents to the appropriate customs officers or clearing agents.
• Send daily tracking reports to operations and clearing agents to avoid border delays.
• Inspect documents for quality and brief drivers on proper handling.
• Ensure drivers are in full uniform and adhere to safety standards at the border.
• Coordinate daily border updates with direct report lines and record all updates in Alistair systems.
• Manage and coach subordinate staff.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Minimum a degree in Logistics or Clearing and Forwarding.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and deadline driven.
• Strong communication, administrative and organizational abilities.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office package.
