Business Development Manager – IT Solutions

About the role

Qrent Zambia, a leading supplier of computer and IT equipment in Lusaka, is seeking a results‑driven Business Development Manager. The role focuses on expanding the client base across corporate, government, education and SME sectors and positioning the company as the preferred provider of technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities in target markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Develop and execute sales and business development strategies to increase market share.
• Prepare and present proposals, quotations and tenders for hardware and IT solutions.
• Advise clients on suitable technical solutions based on their needs.
• Negotiate contracts and close deals in line with company targets.
• Collaborate with technical and procurement teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy.
• Represent Qrent Zambia at industry events, exhibitions and client meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, IT or related field.
• Proven experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably in the IT/computer hardware industry.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated with a drive to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Lusaka and beyond.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of computers, IT hardware and peripherals.
• Understanding of Zambian IT market and procurement processes, including tenders.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with CRM or sales‑tracking tools.
