Business Development Manager – Zambia

About the role

SGS, the world leader in testing, inspection and certification, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across Zambia. You will lead marketing and sales initiatives, build a high‑performing team and ensure client acquisition and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and achieve marketing, sales and revenue targets while setting up the local Marketing and Sales organization.
• Provide marketing, promotion and sales support to internal structures and all Lines of Business.
• Gather and interpret market and competitor information, promote cross‑selling of SGS services and liaise with regional VPs.
• Manage client acquisition, retention, contract administration and post‑contract client service.
• Report on prospecting and revenue performance, identify shortfalls and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree in a commercial discipline, preferably industrial/technical/management.
• Minimum 5 years of sales and marketing experience in industrial or technical sectors with a proven track record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment and make accountable business decisions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
